Last year, we saw the birth of new gadget, the tablet PC. And from that day, it’s grown better and better. Apple has done the historical step with its fabulous iPad which hit the market. Others then follow Apple step by releasing their own version tablet. Samsung can be said as Apple hardest rivals in tablet with its Galaxy Tab series which includes OG Galaxy Tab, 10.1" (available on the market), 8.9" (prototype version), and the most recent is 7.7" series. Samsung has recently announced Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 at IFA. This Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 series is predicted to be OG Galaxy Tab successor. To successfully replacing Samsung first tablet series, Galaxy Tab 7.7 is equipped with 7.7” screen which paired with Android 3.2. But till now, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Price and concrete release date are not yet announced by Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 screen is also interesting. It is using a Super AMOLED Plus display, instead of the traditional LCD. This is also to be the first for a tablet PC. AMOLED screen offers much more comfort and enjoyable experience of viewing pictures and video by its incredibly deep contrasts, and lots of colors. Galaxy Tab 7.7's display sports a resolution of 800x1280, which is great for this screen size, making even smaller text and other details appear crisp.
Since Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is not yet available on the market, this preview is based on a prototype unit. Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a great improvement, i.e.: much thinner and better feeling chassis, the cheerful and hi-res Super AMOLED Plus display, the faster dual-core processor which allows Flash Player performs good in the browser. Moreover, the most important advancement is that Galaxy Tab 7.7 has Android 3.2 operating system. Said as a true tablet-optimized OS, make this tablet has faster speed, more productive and efficient in its performance and capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 equipped with nice design and build quality, utilizing good choice materials, and having that ultra-thin profile. Galaxy Tab 7.7 can be considered very lightweight, weighted at only 11.82 oz (335 g), while the original Tab's 13.40 oz (380 g) and HTC Flyer 7” weighs at 14.82 oz (420 g). For consumers who want a smaller and lighter tablet who want quite easy to pick up tablet, this tablet is fits their needs. Galaxy Tab 7.7 back is adorned with a stylish brushed metal finish which is the first time in a Samsung tablet (10.1 and 8.9 are all-plastic). Galaxy Tab 7.7 dimension is also thinner than iPad 2, and Galaxy Tab 10.1/8.9, at just 0.31” (7.89mm).
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. Aside with futuristic Android 3.2, Samsung has chosen to layer its TouchWiz UX user interface. TouchWiz makes the Galaxy Tab 7.7 look to be a friendlier tablet. TouchWiz UX comes with a Live Panel menu for customizing the home screens on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 with pictures, bookmarks and social network feeds. TouchWiz also includes a “Mini Apps” tray for commonly used features such as task manager, calendar and music player.
For its processor, Galaxy Tab 7.7 relies on the fast dual-core Tegra 2 chipset processor of 1.4 GHz. This processor supports Galaxy Tab 7.7 to flawlessly running 1080p videos on its big Super AMOLED Plus display. It also support good web experience, while the Flash Player performance is great
Ports available on Galaxy Tab 7.7 are: microSD card slot (left side), volume rocker and lock/unlock button (right side), 3.5 mm jack (top side), and proprietary port and speakers (bottom side).
