Asus N53SV-A1 Review

Asus N53SV-A1 laptop intended to accomplish users need of powerfull desktop replacement with good looking design. Asus N53SV-A1 review on its specs and performance has proven it. Asus N53SV-A1 specs combine best performance of processor and graphical chip. Its main specs are: fast quad-core Core i7 processor which paired with Nvidia GeForce 540M discrete graphical chip and integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000, and supported by 4 GB DDR3 RAM. Asus N53SV-A1 has 15.6 inches screen size. Asus N53SV-A1 price range on the market starts from $1,142.99. But please be aware, Asus N53SV-A1 laptop weighs at 6.4 pounds, most laptop which has 15.6 screen size only bellow 6 pounds. Since it also only use 48WH battery, its battery only can run almost up to 3 hours 50 minutes. Its rival in desktop replacement is Sony VAIO VPC-F226FM/B which comes with similar processor but with larger screen (16.4 inches) and higher price (starts from $1,389.99). 

Asus N53SV-A1 Design, Features, and Performance

Asus N53SV-A1 processor relies on 2.73GHz quad-core Intel Core i7-2630QM which is full-powered, standard-voltage processor, and based on Sandy Bridge technology. Its system is supported with 4GB of DDR3 RAM. Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics card are quite powerfull. On 3DMark 06 testing, Asus N53SV-A1 score at 10,073 points. No need to worry playing 3d game like Crysis and Lost Planet 2. Asus N53SV-A1 also equipped with Nvidia's Optimus technology that support to automatically switch between the discrete Nvidia chip and the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 for battery savings. But, those only supported by 48WH battery that only can run almost up to 3 hours 50 minutes (without activating Optimus) based on MobileMark 2007 test. Unfortunately, Asus don't offer higher batterry, so please be aware if you far from electrical source.

Asus N53SV-A1 is nicely well designed. Asus N53SV-A1 is topped-off with slightly brushed aluminum. It weighs for 6.4-pound, which is should be concern for frequent traveller. Its screen size is 15.6-inches (widescreen type) with maximum resolutions 1,366-by-768. High performance laptop usually can reach 1080p resolution, but Asus N53SV-A1 resolution is too standard (1,366-by-768 is common in budget laptops). Asus N53SV-A1 keyboard also need to be improved, since flexing at the center of the keyboard is detected.

For the storage media, Asus N53SV-A1 comes with spacious 750GB hard drive with fast spinning (7,200rpm). Other features offerred are: one USB 3.0 port, three USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, a multimedia card slot, and a 2-megapixel Webcam. Asus N53SV-A1 connection features: Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n Wi-Fi. Optical drive obtained is a tray-ejecting DVD+R DL placed on the right side. Its speakers produce great sounds since use audio guru, Bang & Olufsen ICEpower.
